Usually we eat our air-popped popcorn with a little salt and butter, but now and then we spice things up with a little Chili Cheese Seasoning.

But this chili cheese seasoning isn’t just for popcorn, it’s also good on potatoes, pasta, veggies, eggs, chickpeas or garlic toast.  This recipe uses real cheddar cheese powder, which I found at a bulk food store. If you want, you could also use KD cheese powder!

Seasoning Popcorn – How Much?

When it comes to popcorn, there’s really no need to follow precise measurements, so don’t worry too much about exact measurements. The following are just general guidelines to give you a sense of what you can expect.

popcorn kernels

Popping Corn – 1/2 cup popcorn kernels =16 cups or 4 Litres of popcorn (1 ice cream pail)

Butter – 1 Tablespoon of butter will  coat 4 cups of popcorn

Seasoning – 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon of seasoning will coat 4 cups of popcorn
