Ingredients
1 1/4cupall purpose flour
1/2tspbaking soda
1/4tsp salt
3/4cupwhite chocolate chips, divided
3/4cup M&M chocolates, divided
1/3cupcocoa powder
1/2cupbrown sugar
1/3cupwhite sugar
Instructions
In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Count out about 25 M&Ms and 25 chocolate chips. Wrap them in a piece of plastic wrap to keep them separate from the rest of the ingredients. These can be used to put on top of cookies just before baking.
Measure out all ingredients and line them up in the order you'd like to add them to a 1 litre/1 quart jar. Suggested: white sugar, cocoa, flour, M&Ms, white choco chips, brown sugar, wrapped M&Ms and chips.
Baking Directions - From the Mix (include with the jar)
Also Need: 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla
Set aside bundle of M&Ms and chips.
Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheet with parchment.
In large bowl, cream together butter, egg and vanilla.
Add contents of jar and beat on low to combine. Dough will be stiff.
Scoop out 1 Tbsp at a time and form into 24 balls. Space 2" apart. Flatten slightly and press remaining M&Ms and chips into top of cookies.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool tray on wire rack.
Baking Directions - From Scratch - not from a jar
Also need: 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla
Beat butter with brown and white sugar.
Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and then add to the butter.
Stir in the chocolate chips and M&M’s.Scoop and roll into 24 balls. Flatten slightly. Add a couple more M&Ms and white chips on top. Bake as directed above.
Makes 2 dozen cookies.
Notes
For a cookie that's soft inside, do not flatten cookies too much and do not overbake.Saving and adding 25 M&Ms and chocolate chips on top before baking will showcase these candy, otherwise they'll be covered in batter.
