Chop green onions into uniform pieces. Choose the size you prefer best.
Spread evenly on mesh tray. To prevent dried pieces from being blown around in the dehydrator, cover onions with another mesh liner.
Set dehydrator to 125°F or 52°C and dry for 3-5 hours or as needed until green onions are crunchy and crumbly.
Cool completely (let rest for 2 hours) then pour into a air tight container just large enough to hold all the dried green onions (avoid large airspace).
Notes
When drying green onions or other members of the alium family - do so outside because they release a very strong odour.On average: 1 cup raw green onions = 1/4 dried green onions = 1 1/2 tsp powder
