What’s in the Rhubarb Cookbook?
The rhubarb cookbook covers it all. How to harvest, freeze, can, dehydrate, cook, bake, juice and jam rhubarb. Sweet and savory, traditional and trendy, it’s all here with photos for just about every recipe.
You may not get to all the recipes in the book during this rhubarb season, but that’s okay. Just follow the tips, techniques and recipes for preserving rhubarb and you can enjoy it all year round.
The only question that remains is – what will you try first?

A Trusted Source
Stop wasting time searching for recipes and taking chances on something that may or may not work. These recipes are tried and true and cover just about everything you can imagine.
The recipes are written in the same thorough and practical style that you’ve come to know and expect from me. My style is more “home-cooking” than “fancy chic”. I like to use standard ingredients and keep things relatively easy. Even recipes like the Rhubarb Cinnamon Buns, that take a little longer, are broken down into easy, manageable steps.
As a Professional Home Economist, I also don’t compromise on food safety. When I share preserving tips, techniques and recipes they’re based on the latest information from the National Centre of Home Food Preservation– the undisputed leader in home canning research.
And of course, I’ll be here if you have any questions along the way. Not only that, but where relevant, the Rhubarb Cookbook has live links to additional content on my website and YouTube site. Your rhubarb needs are covered!

How Does it Compare to the Prairie Fruit Cookbook
The Prairie Fruit Cookbook was my first printed cookbook with over 150 recipes featuring nine different prairie fruits. It had 14 rhubarb recipes.
The Rhubarb Cookbook is an online ebook that has 48 recipes and preserves dedicated to rhubarb. It includes updated versions of the rhubarb recipes found in the Prairie Fruit Cookbook which has sold out.
The ebook version allows greater flexibility, saves on paper, will never be sold out and most importantly lets you receive updates and additions as they happen. The ebook comes with live links to written and visual content on my website and YouTube channel so you can access for more information, photos and videos for certain recipes. How cool is that?!
Fun Fact about the Rhubarb Cookbook
This cookbook has been a family affair. My family and friends have been the taste testers. They were clear about what they liked and didn’t like. Rhubarb avocado toast was a definite NO!
My son also helped me lay out this cookbook as part of a high school course. He used Microsoft Publisher and insisted on using large, legible font. Based on his recommendation we used a 16pt font size and made pages 81/2 x 11. So, when you’re looking at a full page recipe, you won’t have any difficulty reading the fine print. He’s smart like that!
I’m so excited to offer this rhubarb recipe book and hope you enjoy every recipe. And please, if you have any questions, let me know! Chatting with readers and answering questions is one of my favorite things. Connect with me on social media or send me an email.
