Sore Throat Remedy from the Kitchen – Lemon Ginger Honey
When someone in our house suffers from a sore throat or complains of that tickly feeling, we pull out the Lemon Ginger Honey. Make this easy infused honey to get everyone feeling better quick!

A hot, steamy mug of ginger and lemon starts to warm up your insides and helps clear the sinuses. The honey adds great flavor and together with the ginger helps soothe that scratchy throat. And somehow your spirits are lifted just a little when someone prepares a soothing tonic for you.
Lemon Ginger Infused Honey Remedy
Lemon Ginger Infused Honey – A Sore Throat Remedy
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest zest of 1 lemon
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger root
- 1 cup liquid honey
Instructions
- Add lemon zest and ginger root to a small 1 cup sealable jar.
- Pour honey over top and stir until ingredients are well blended. If need be, heat honey over a pot of hot water to make it flow.
- Put lid on jar. Allow mixture to infuse for 5 to 10 days in a cool, dark place.
- Mixture can be used right away or stored for several months.
- If you wish, after ten days, you can pour the honey through a fine strainer to remove the lemon zest and ginger. This step is optional, the ginger and lemon zest can remain in the honey.
Notes
- 1 Tbsp of lemon ginger infused honey
- 1 Tbsp of lemon juice
- 1 cup of  hot water
