How to Make Your Own Creole or Cajun Seasoning
Add this homemade creole or cajun seasoning blend to your pantry.
For outstanding flavor, to control ingredients and to save time, I like making my own spice blends. For example, I use my homemade Lemon Herb Seasoning when I’m quickly heating up some frozen veggies. Without a lot of work or even having to think about what herbs and spices I could add, I’ve transformed my frozen veggies from plain veggies with a pat of butter to a lively, delicious side dish. I use my Italian seasoning for most tomato based dishes and I use homemade taco seasoning for Mexican inspired dishes.
What Recipes Use Cajun Seasoning?
I use this seasoning when I want a little kick on chicken, meat, soups, stews and rice. Some of our favourite recipes using Cajun Seasoning:
- Roasted Chickpeas
- Oven Roasted Potatoes
- Roasted Squash
- Oven Roasted Broccoli
- Oven Roasted Cauliflower
- Crispy Baked Chicken Fingers
- Oven Roasted Whole Chicken
Here’s my recipe for Cajun seasoning. It has a kick to it with 1 1/2 Tablespoons of cayenne pepper – but you can always add more if you want!
